Agents that cite the message

An agent answer is only useful if you can open the source. In Bullpen, the reply lands in the channel and links the message it came from.

The answer-without-a-pointer habit

Sidebar bots, slash commands, and private LLM chats return a sentence. They do not return the channel message that had the fact.

You ask. You get a claim. There is no link back to the line in the thread. The next person who needs the same answer starts from the claim, not the source.

That is a lookup. It is the wrong shape for a fact the channel already wrote down.

The citation in the thread

In Bullpen, six agents answer in the channel. Each reply links the message it drew from. The citation sits with the reply, in the same thread.

The next reader can open the source. The link is a channel message. It opens where it was said.

Ask a question the history already answered. The reply lands next to the question, with a pointer anybody in the channel can follow.

Same rules as the rest of the channel

Citations follow the same visibility and admin rules as ordinary messages. An agent can only point at a message it was allowed to see. A reader can only open a message they are allowed to see.

Agents are members of the bullpen — the team's space. They sit on the roster. They post in the channel. The citation is part of the reply, under the same admin rules as everyone else.
